Physics
Your pathway to physics mastery
Science 10 introduced students to the basic principles of motion, energy, and the scientific method. Students learned how to gather data, interpret graphs, describe motion qualitatively, and apply simple formulas to everyday physical events. These early skills formed the essential groundwork for Physics 20.
The Physics 20 course takes the ideas from Science 10 and develops them into a deeper, more structured understanding of the physical world. Students explore kinematics in one and two dimensions, Newton’s laws, circular motion, work and energy, and oscillatory motion. Mathematical problem-solving becomes more central, and students begin to analyze systems rather than single events. The course strengthens the student’s ability to think logically, structure solutions, and communicate scientific reasoning clearly.
Building on the solid foundation of Physics 20, Physics 30 challenges students with more abstract and advanced concepts. Topics include momentum and impulse, electric and magnetic fields, electromagnetic radiation, atomic structure, and modern physics. Students must draw on both conceptual understanding and mathematical skill to interpret complex phenomena. Inquiry-based labs and real-world applications help students appreciate how physics principles influence technology, engineering, and scientific discovery.
Together, these three courses guide students from introductory scientific understanding toward advanced analytical thinking and problem-solving in physics.
- Science 10 establishes core skills,
- Physics 20 expands those skills into a deeper understanding of motion and energy, and
- Physics 30 extends students into the sophisticated and highly applied world of advanced physics.
This progression prepares students not only for academic success but also for future studies in science, engineering, and related fields.
